Product Overview

The APEX APX-PGM300 is a telecom grade IEEE 1588v2 PTP grandmaster clock for 5G and carrier networks. It combines a GNSS locked reference with the interface set that mobile and transport networks actually need.

Carrier networks run on frequency and phase, not just time. The APX-PGM300 provides PTP for packet based sync plus E1 and 2.048MHz for the legacy transport that still carries traffic in many networks.

It is designed for base station synchronization, mobile backhaul, transport nodes and utility timing. Each unit is configured for the interfaces and profile your project requires before it ships.

Key Features

  • Telecom grade IEEE 1588v2 PTP grandmaster
  • GNSS reference for carrier synchronization
  • PTP V2 with NTP and SNTP support
  • E1 and 2.048MHz frequency outputs
  • 1PPS and 10MHz reference outputs
  • IRIG-B time code output option
  • Redundant power and reference inputs
  • Built for 5G and mobile backhaul timing

Applications

5G RAN Synchronization

Supplies phase and frequency reference to base stations and radio units across the access network.

Mobile Backhaul and Transport

Keeps transport nodes on a common clock where E1 and packet sync are both in use.

Utility and Infrastructure Timing

Delivers disciplined time and frequency to substations and critical infrastructure networks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the APEX APX-PGM300?

It is a telecom grade IEEE 1588v2 PTP grandmaster clock with PTP, NTP, E1, 1PPS, 10MHz and IRIG-B outputs.

Why E1 and 2.048MHz outputs?

Many carrier networks still run frequency synchronization over E1. Keeping it on the same unit avoids a second box in the rack.

Is it suitable for 5G?

Yes. It is designed for 5G and mobile backhaul timing where phase accuracy drives service quality.

How is it configured?

Interfaces and profile settings are set for your project before shipment and recorded for repeat orders.

Why Choose APEX

  • Timing and synchronization designed and configured for your network.
  • Interfaces and profiles set before shipment, with the configuration kept on file.
  • Standards based design for interoperability with carrier and data center equipment.
  • Backed by a 3 year warranty and technical support on link and sync planning.
